EVENT DETAILS

Please book your place by emailing the Friends of Bedgebury Pinetum via the red button above. If you are booked in on an event you can contact me by email DavidJennerEmail or phone on 07714 324563.

Please note the walk will go ahead even in light rain; only if the conditions are torrential or there are high winds would we postpone and offer you another date.

The Pinetum opens at 8.00am but be aware there is often a queue of people waiting for the gates to open. We shall meet by the Pine Cone (see image below) to the left of the ticket machines just before 8.30am so that we can start our walk promptly. We shall aim to be back at the car park by 11.00am.

Below are suggestions of what to bring, although not a definitive list, if you would like any advice before the day just email me on DavidJennerEmail

MUST BRING...

  • Camera (obviously) – lenses (wide angle and telephoto) and accessories (see optional list below) - make sure your battery is fully charged
  • Refreshments – it might be a warm day so bring some water
  • Walking shoes or boots – just in case the grass is wet or paths are slightly muddy (there are one or two inclines but no real strenuous walking)
  • Knee Pads – I find these absolutely invaluable when I am out shooting as it allows me to get down low and find compositions that would otherwise be uncomfortable. If you are looking for a really good pair of pads I would recommend the NoCry Professional Knee Pads - CLICK HERE to find them on Amazon.
  • Waterproof/windproof jacket and trousers
  • Warm clothing including hat and gloves
  • It is advisable to make sure you bring protection in the form of sun cream for obvious reasons and insect repellant to avoid being bitten (I know from experience that midges and mosquitos in the Pinetum can be dreadfully annoying on the day and after the event

OPTIONAL ITEMS...

  • Tripod (although optional it would be essential if you want to do any long exposures) - DON’T forget the plate that fits the camera to the tripod
  • Polarising, ND and ND graduated filters - useful for photographing water and skies if you are familiar with what these are
  • Remote/cable shutter release
  • Spare battery and additional memory card

ON THE DAY...

You will be asked to sign a Liability Disclaimer Agreement (and provide a mobile number in case of an emergency) on the understanding that all activities you participate in during the photo walk are done so at your own risk and you accept all responsibility. In doing so, you agree not to bring any claim against David Jenner or any assistants involved in the event or indeed any employees of The Friends of Bedgebury Pinetum or Forestry England.

If you agree at the time of booking, your email address will be added to our mailing list to notify you of any future photo walks or workshops but you will be able to unsubscribe at any time.

Thanks again for supporting my workshops and I look forward to seeing you on the day.
